Overview

March was a blast! I hit a record 30,919 words written in the month, and although I didn’t finish Date of Death in March, I did finish it in the first four days of April. Another draft one complete and I really enjoyed writing it!

I decided to start lifting weights like a bodybuilder while I wait for my shoulder to heal. Motivation to exercise has been slim since I had to take a break from climbing, and I’ve only been running three times a week. Unfortunately, my shoulder hasn’t improved so I’ll be seeing the doctor soon to get some imaging done. I’ll be picking up the workouts and training five days a week with typical bodybuilding spreads for now, aiming to build some strength and muscle.

All the dogs in March were great. It was the easiest month I’ve had since I started boarding dogs. They did so well together! And I got to spend some time with Titan, which was really nice. He’s great with other dogs, unless they’re getting my attention, then he doesn’t like them.

Writing Status

There is a lot happening. I’m currently going through The Genesis Project for one more line edit. I keep catching little things to adjust. I took out over a hundred curse words because I realized there were too many. There are still some, but not nearly as many. After making those adjustments, I decided to read through the book again to make sure it still flowed well and didn’t get awkward or out of character. Once I’m done, I’ll send out the digital copy to all my Kickstarter backers (who I was able to get all the surveys from), and order the physical books.

I finished writing Date of Death! It was so fun to write and rewarding to wrap up. The book finished at over 104,000 words, so it’s quite a bit larger than The Genesis Project. I’ll be putting it aside for a little while to focus on other projects that are in the cue, but look forward to getting back to it.

Books on the Go

The Genesis Project:
Manuscript: One more line edit before sending off the digital copy and printing the books for all the Kickstarter Backers. Once they’re all out, I’ll be publishing the book everywhere.
I’m now working on the short story collection. I’ve already written over a thousand words of the first story and am outlining the others.

Armageddon’s Descendants – Book 1: The Collective
Manuscript: I’ve been working through the edits of book one slowly. Mostly developing the outline for the full trilogy, to ensure the story progresses properly and anything I might need to set up in book one can be properly set up before publishing. It’s taking quite a bit of time and energy to outline the books, as I generally prefer just to write and discover.

Knights of Truipis:
Manuscript: The first draft is completed. I’ll go back to this one likely in 2025.

Date of Death:
Manuscript: The first draft is complete at just over 104,000 words! I really enjoyed writing this book and wrapping it up. It’s going to go in the cue for a little while before I can get to draft two.
