Big Edits, Big Losses and Big Plans for 2025

Overview

A bit of a tough end to the month as the breeder for my new pup informed me that they lost the litter. Sadly, this means that I don’t have a pup coming, unless there’s an unexpected rescue that comes up. It killed some of the motivation I had in the last 24 hours.

I haven’t done much writing, as editing has been a full-time experience with editing Cognitive Breach, Monsoon Rendezvous, the second draft of The Chosen and final proofreading for The Collective.

There was mixed feedback on The Chosen so I’ve been working hard to balance my vision of the story with reader’s perspectives.

With all this going on, I haven’t done a lot of reading of my own outside of audio books. And the last couple of books haven’t been worth mentioning, as they fell a little flat for me.

Publishing Status

Writing:
Not much to say. I’ve been thinking a lot about book three in the trilogy, but haven’t put any words to paper with other important deadlines upcoming. I hope to start writing book three in January.

Editing:
A lot of work on editing this month. The deadline for The Chosen was extended until December 5th so I’m hard at work making it the best I can after mixed feedback. Unfortunately the smallest thing can really impact the story when it comes to character development. I’m also hard at work on the final draft of The Collective which should be out in digital format to Kickstarter backers by Christmas. I also worked on the final edits for Monsoon Rendezvous and Cognitive Breach.

Marketing:
Although I try to post more often, the editing was far more important to me, along with the rebuilding of the website. I’m considering some private coaching with marketing to help me push some books out. The issue being that you don’t know who can really help get the results, because results are hard to find compared to people who say they can find them for you.

Books On The Go

The World of The Genesis Project:

Manuscript: Monsoon Rendezvous is complete and will launch on January 15th in Digital and Paperback. Cognitive Breach is still in the editing phase, along with having artwork done, so it will likely be available February 15th or March 15th. I have plans for a prequel to The Genesis Project as another novel to write next year! We’ll see, it’s early.

Publication: The Genesis Project is live and on sale everywhere. Monsoon Rendezvous is available for pre-order everywhere (launches January 15th).

Armageddon’s Descendants

Book 1: The Collective
Manuscript: The Collective has moved to the final proof stage! The hope will be to launch the book March 15th if Cognitive Breach is ready for February 15th.

Book 2: The Chosen
Manuscript: The Chosen second draft is complete and with some conflicting feedback on book 2, I’m scrambling to write as much of a third draft as I can before it goes to the developmental editor.
