Kickstarter Live & September Updates
Overview
What an action packed month of adventure, writing and dogs!
It’s not distracting at all having three dogs hanging out over the weekend, looking up at me with hopeful eyes for a treat, a toy, a walk and/or a bathroom break. I’m totally focused. Then who took this photo, you ask?
In September I hit the mountains for our annual Adventure in the mountains. We spent two and a half days in the backcountry in the Adirondacks, hiking mountains and enjoying the views.
I also decided it was time to get a puppy! I’ve put a deposit down for a black lab breeder and my new puppy is expected to be born in November and hopefully come home in early January if everything goes well.
Big news today – the Kickstarter launched for The Collective! You can support this project by pledging now! It’s a special edition hardcover with silver foil, jacket cover and ribbon (not pictured here, as unfortunately I don’t have the proof yet). With enough support, I’ll even try to add sprayed edges.
All raised funds go to the production of the book and if there’s anything extra, the publication of the next book. Thank you for your support!
Publishing Status
Writing: I had hoped to finish book two in Armageddon’s Descendants trilogy, but the book is longer than I expected. I’m currently at 91,000 words, expecting to finish in another six thousand words or so. Initially I assumed the book would be closer to 80,000 words, which is why I missed the target. I’ve successfully been writing on average 10,000 words a week.

Editing: No changes here. The Collective is currently being edited by me. The plan will be to finish this draft of editing, then send it off for a small print run to go through again. With the Kickstarter launched, I’ll be working extra hard to get these done.
Marketing: Another quiet month on the marketing front. I’ll be trying to post more often on social throughout the Kickstarter. Hopefully I can wrap up book two, which will give me some time to focus on everything else.
Books on the Go
The World of The Genesis Project:
Manuscript: I’m working on the novellas and hoping to launch them in November as an e-book only. Stay tuned!
Publication: The Genesis Project is live and on sale everywhere. The two novellas are expected to go on sale this Fall (Monsoon Rendezvous and Cognitive Breach).
Armageddon’s Descendants – Book 1: The Collective
Manuscript: The Collective is still in the editing stage, as I’ve been focused on finishing book two while it’s all in my mind. The Kickstarter launched today, so I have a lot of work to do to hit my goal of having it out to people by Christmas!

Manuscript: The first draft is completed. I’ll go back to this one likely in 2025.
Date of Death:
Manuscript: The first draft is complete at just over 104,000 words! It’s in the cue for 2025.
